Setting up our fair test
Our class question: "Does the amount of water change how tall cress seedlings grow?"
1. Our investigation plan:
| Variable job | Our plan |
|---|---|
| CHANGE | |
| MEASURE | |
| KEEP THE SAME |
2. Our prediction (what we think will happen, and why):
Daily measurements
This investigation runs over a week. Measure carefully each day — accuracy matters!
3. Measure your seedlings each day and record their height in millimetres (mm). Do this for both pots.
| Day | Pot A height (mm) | Pot B height (mm) |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | ||
| Day 2 | ||
| Day 3 | ||
| Day 4 | ||
| Day 5 |
4. After a week, what did you notice? Which pot grew taller?
