Mathematics 12 lessons
  1. Understanding Number: Integers, Place Value, Primes & Fractions Introduces positive and negative integers on a number line, multiplicative place value of decimals, square/prime/composite numbers in arrays, ordering fractions, and connecting common percentages to fractions and decimals.
  2. Equalities & Inequalities: Balancing the Four Operations Completing, checking and constructing statements of equality and inequality across the four operations, including brackets and the order of operations.
  3. Patterns & Relationships: Finding and Generalising Rules Creating and representing increasing and decreasing patterns with materials and numbers, and using words to generalise the rule linking each term to its position.
  4. Calculating with Number: Whole Numbers, Fractions, Decimals & Estimation Flexible and efficient strategies for the four operations with whole numbers, adding/subtracting fractions with related denominators and decimals to 2dp, multiplying decimals, finding fractions/decimals/percentages of a quantity, and estimating and rounding.
  5. Financial Mathematics: Savings Goals, Expenses & Interest Developing savings plans, predicting expenses, and understanding that money saved with a bank earns interest.
  6. Modelling with Number: Solving Real-World Problems Applying the mathematical modelling process to real-world situations involving whole numbers, order of operations and fractions: analyse, represent, solve, and interpret/communicate findings.
  7. 2D Space & Structures: Transformations, Units, Area, Angles & the Cartesian Plane Translations, reflections and rotations of 2D shapes; converting metric units of length, mass and capacity; area of rectangles; angle relationships; and locating points on the Cartesian plane in four quadrants.
  8. 3D Space & Structures: Prisms, Pyramids & Volume Visualising, sketching and constructing 3D objects including prisms and pyramids, and describing/testing a sequence of steps to determine the volume of rectangular prisms.
  9. Non-Spatial Measurement: Time, Timetables & Duration Using timetables and itineraries in 12- and 24-hour time to determine the duration of events and journeys.
  10. Modelling with Measurement & Geometry: Real-World Applications Applying the mathematical modelling process to real-world situations involving transformations, prisms/pyramids, the Cartesian plane, metric conversion, area, volume, and duration.
  11. Probability: The 0–1 Scale, Experiments & Simulations Ordering everyday chance events on a 0–1 scale, and conducting repeated chance experiments and simulations to compare expected and observed frequencies as the number of trials increases.
  12. Statistics: Interpreting Displays & Running a Data Investigation Interpreting data displays (including side-by-side column graphs) using mode, range and shape; analysing how display features influence an audience; and carrying out a full real-world data investigation.
