Make building an evidence-based response a physical, active process rather than a desk task.
Evidence gallery walk
Post the numbat source sheet (and any extra sources) as stations around the room. Students walk the gallery with a clipboard, physically collecting evidence cards or jotting one fact per station. Moving to gather evidence mirrors how the response is built from sources.
Build the response physically
Give each group three large physical cards — ISSUE, EVIDENCE, ACTION — and have them assemble their argument by laying the cards in order on the floor or a desk, then standing the cards up only once they can justify the link from one to the next aloud. Rearranging physical cards lets them test whether their action actually matches their evidence.
