Test and sort the materials
Some materials let electricity through and some do not. Use your circuit and the globe as a tester to sort materials — keeping the test fair.
Q1. Test each material in your circuit. If the globe lights, it is a conductor. If it stays off, it is an insulator.
| Material | Did the globe light? | Conductor or insulator? |
|---|---|---|
| Metal spoon | ||
| Plastic ruler | ||
| Wooden peg | ||
| Aluminium foil | ||
| Rubber band | ||
| Paper clip |
Q2. What do the conductors have in common?
Q3. To keep your test fair, what did you keep the same each time?
Q4. Draw a series circuit and a parallel circuit, and label the difference.
