Keep every conversion anchored to a picture until the notation is secure.
- Hundred grid for everything. Every percentage in We Do gets shaded before it gets written. 5% versus 50% is instantly obvious as 5 squares versus half the grid — the single-digit misconception dies on the grid.
- Triple number line. Students keep one 0–1 line with three label rows (fraction above, percentage below, decimal underneath). Each new value gets pinned to its point; seeing three labels share one point IS the learning intention.
- Colour-code the notations. Fractions in blue, decimals in green, percentages in red throughout the lesson — then show the same amount wearing all three colours at the same spot on the line.
- Discount posters. For Section 5, sketch the item as a bar; shade what you pay and what you save under 10%, 25% and 50% off. "50% off = half price" becomes a picture of half a bar.
