Many-to-one graphs and interpreting data
"A good graph tells a clear story," says Ollie. "Choose a sensible scale."
1. Data: frogs 8, lizards 6, dragonflies 14, birds 10. Draw a column graph where each square = 2. Label axes and add a title.
2. In a pictograph, each picture = 4 creatures. How many pictures show 14 dragonflies? (Use half-pictures.)
3. How many more dragonflies than lizards? How many creatures altogether?
4. Why might a many-to-one graph (each square = 2) be better than one square per creature here? Explain.
5. Write two true statements and one question that your graph could answer.
