Draw the energy chain
Students build the tsunami sequence as a labelled flow diagram: undersea earthquake → seafloor lifts → energy spreads through water → wave surges up at the coast. Drawing the chain (mirroring the deck's animation) makes clear the cause is the quake, not the wind.
Read the data, not just the story
For each case-study card, students turn one figure into a quick visual — a bar showing Cyclone Yasi's 285 km/h winds against a normal windy day, or the tsunami's 30 m wave against a two-storey house. Visualising the scale of the number drives home how serious the event was.
