Tell your partner one way the Earth's surface changed because of a geological event you learned about today — and what caused it.

Today's big ideas

Earth has layers: crust, mantle, outer core, inner core.
The crust is broken into tectonic plates that slowly move.
Where plates meet, we get earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
These events both build up and wear down the surface.
