Visual: clear viewing and a focus card

Support visual learners to observe precisely and organise their grid — without altering the assessed task.

Observation focus card

Give each student a small "what to look for" card listing the four signs as icons (bubbles, palette, flame, star) as a silent reminder of what kinds of things to watch for. It cues careful looking without naming any answer.

Set the stage for clear viewing

Use a plain dark backdrop behind each demonstration and, where safe, a visualiser/camera projected large so every student sees colour and texture changes clearly. Precise observation is the assessed skill — make the phenomena easy to see.
