Lesson 6 — Irreversible Changes and New Substances
Chemical sciences. Irreversible changes — burning, cooking, rusting, and mixing reactants that make a new substance. Students identify the signs of chemical change (gas, colour change, heat, new material) and why such changes cannot be undone. Includes a slide deck with an animated bicarb-and-vinegar reaction and the Irreversible Change Investigation worksheet.
