Let students move and build to feel how a habitat supplies the four survival needs.
Build-a-habitat stations
Set up the room as a habitat. Place four labelled "supply points" around the space — Food, Water, Shelter, Space. Each student picks an animal card, then physically walks to each point and collects a token showing how their animal gets that need. If a need can't be found, that animal "can't survive here" — a powerful, physical way to feel the cause and effect.
Living sorting
Instead of sorting cards on a mat, students hold their animal card and group themselves by habitat (forest / wetland / grassland / suburb), then explain to another group why they belong together.
