Make the report's structure and the unit review physical before students write.
Build the report with movable parts
Give students four large section cards — Question, Method, Results, Conclusion — and a jumbled set of sentence strips from a sample report. Students physically sort each strip under the right section and order them. Handling and arranging the parts teaches the report's shape before they draft their own.
Unit review carousel
Set up four "big idea" stations (living things, reversible/irreversible change, our changing Earth, electricity). Groups rotate around them, physically adding one key word and one example to each station's poster. Moving through the four strands re-activates the whole unit by doing.
