This is the summative planned investigation, so the plan students write and the criteria stay fixed. Support kinesthetic learners to plan well by letting them handle materials while they think.
Plan with the materials in hand
Let students physically explore the foil ribbons, cells and globes during planning (without running the final test) so they can feel what they could change — ribbon length, width, number of layers. Manipulating the materials helps kinesthetic planners choose a sensible variable and write a realistic method.
Lay out the method as a sequence
Students arrange step cards (or sticky notes) in order on the desk to sequence their method physically, then transcribe the ordered steps into their plan. Rearranging steps by hand produces a clearer written method.
