Bridge the real components and their conventional symbols visually, and show energy flow as a coloured loop.
Object-to-symbol matching
Lay each real component beside its conventional symbol from the reference card. Students draw a line from the photo of the cell to the cell symbol, the globe to its circle-and-cross, and so on. Seeing the object and symbol together makes diagram-drawing far easier.
Trace the energy loop
On a circuit diagram, students trace the current path with a coloured pen all the way around the loop, then mark with a star the globe where electrical energy is transformed into light. Colouring the unbroken loop makes "transfer around / transform at the globe" visible.
