Comparing and counting with fractions

1. Fill in the equivalent fractions: a) 2/3 = □/6 = □/12   b) 3/4 = □/8 = □/12

2. Place these on a number line from 0 to 2: 1/2, 3/4, 1 1/4, 1 2/3.

3. Mae shares 3 dampers equally among 4 friends. How much does each friend get? Explain with a picture.

4. Which is bigger, 2/3 or 3/4? Prove it by changing both to twelfths.

5. Pip counts by thirds past 1: 1/3, 2/3, 3/3, 4/3, … Write the next three as mixed numbers.
