Models of Memory: Multi-Store and Working Memory
Processes of memory – encoding, storage, retrieval. Features of the multi-store model (Atkinson and Shiffrin, 1968): sensory register, short-term memory and long-term memory (implicit/procedural; explicit/declarative – semantic and episodic). Features of the working memory model (Baddeley and Hitch, 1974; Baddeley, 2000): central executive, phonological loop, visuospatial sketchpad, episodic buffer.
