Today we are real scientists running a fair test! We will find out which material soaks up the most water. 💧
Step 1: A material that soaks up water is absorbent. One that keeps water out is waterproof.
💧🧽 Absorbent: paper towel, sponge, cotton
🚫💧 Waterproof: plastic wrap, foil, raincoat
Step 2: To be fair, we change only ONE thing and keep everything else the same.
Step 3: Real scientists record their results in a table and draw a column graph to see the pattern.
Your turn, scientists! 🔬
- Write your question and prediction.
- Plan your fair test (change / measure / keep the same).
- Test the materials, record your results and draw your column graph.
- Use the Absorbency Investigation worksheet and the Fair Test Template.
