Today you get to show everything you have learned about ecosystems by building your own! 🌳
This is your chance to be the scientist and put it all together.
Let's remember the three roles before we start:
🌱 Producer
makes its own food from the Sun
🦘 Consumer
eats other living things
🍄 Decomposer
breaks down dead things
Remember the golden rule of food-chain arrows:
🌱 → 🐛 → 🐦
The arrow always points towards the eater — the way the energy travels.
Here's what markers are looking for. Aim for all four! ✅
- The right roles (producers, consumers, a decomposer)
- Food chains with arrows pointing to the eater
- Clear reasons in your explanations (use "because")
- Good science words (producer, consumer, decomposer, energy, nutrients)
Time to build! 🎨
- Part A: Draw your tree ecosystem with producers, consumers and a decomposer, joined by food-chain arrows.
- Part B: Name each living thing's role.
- Part C: Explain a food chain and the decomposer's job.
- Part D: Explain what happens if one living thing disappears.
Take your time and do your best work. You've got this! 💪
