Today you show everything you've learned about forces! You'll be a force detective, working out what's happening in different situations. 🕵️
Remember the two big ideas:
⚖️ Balanced forces
equal and opposite → stays still
➡️ Unbalanced forces
one is bigger → moves
And remember the two kinds of force:
✋ Contact (needs touching)
a push, a pull, friction
🧲 At a distance (no touching)
magnetism, gravity
Here's what markers are looking for. Aim for all four! ✅
- Clear, labelled force arrows (bigger arrow = bigger force)
- Correctly saying if forces are balanced or unbalanced, with a reason
- Naming each force as contact or at a distance
- Using force words in your explanations
Time to show what you know! ✏️
Work through the five situations on your task sheet:
- A book on a table
- A ball rolling on grass
- Two magnets
- A tug-of-war
- Sorting forces into contact and at-a-distance
Draw clear arrows, give reasons, and use your force words. You've got this! 💪
